Reduce packaging and reuse wooden pallets

In 2023, K-LINE reduced its packaging by 10% by involving its packaging operators in Kaizen (continuous improvement) practices. K•LINE also offers a free service for recovering and re-using wooden pallets received by its customers. Since 2019, more than 64,000 pallets have been collected, reconditioned and reused to deliver new joinery products. This is equivalent to 30 hectares of preserved land.

Offer low-carbon
solutions

“OUEST ALU has always been committed to innovation and continuous improvement, in order to provide ever more optimal solutions in terms of competitiveness, protection of the planet and wellbeing for all. To support the ecological transition of commercial buildings, OUEST ALU is now offering an innovative low-carbon façade: CYCLIUM. This ‘closed-loop’ approach covers the four key stages of a façade project, particularly renovation. Demand for low-carbon projects is growing… and it’s just the beginning, because tomorrow, low-carbon construction and renovation will be the norm.”

Loïc Soria, Managing Director of OUEST ALU

Reduce CO2 emissions

New biomass boilers at the MéO and PaX factories. The German company is reusing waste from its wood production factories to fuel its woodchip boiler at its PVC production factory in Rositz. Consideration is also being given to sharing this heating with neighbouring sites. Since 2012, 72% of the energy needed to produce hot water for the industrial process and for heating the MéO production unit in Cugand has been produced using wood chips, which are fed into the biomass boiler, generating a saving of 3050 MWh of gas per year over the last 12 years.

Develop eco-mobility

Since early 2024, WIBAIE has been replacing its fleet of vehicles with the aim of switching all its vehicles to electric. As a result, 24 sales staff and four regional managers will eventually have cars that emit far less CO2 emissions for their various journeys. By reducing emissions of particulates and other pollutants, these electric vehicles also contribute to better air quality, particularly in urban areas. For its part, PaX provides its employees with company bicycles and takes out insurance for the entire fleet.
